What better way to start off a FriYAY/weekend than by showing y’all an awesome couple and their wedding photos??
I want to introduce y’all to Joe and Christy!
Joe and Christy got married just a couple of weeks ago at St. Ann’s Catholic Church (gorgeous church!!), and had their reception at the Great Hall in Germantown!
As a vendor, I will say…I have never in my life laughed and cried so much at a wedding. Literally, I was cracking up one minute about something goofy Joe did (which he’s a goofy guy, so that happened a lot), and the very next minute, I was bawling like a baby. And you know what?? I do NOT think I was alone. Half the audience was crying all throughout the reception, while simultaneously taking shots of Fireball.
The whole day was such a production. The reception…well, they had a Flash Mob! ‘Nough said. Then the ceremony was just…perfect. The Priest said this one line that really stuck with me. (I go to a lot of weddings, so that usually takes a lot for me to remember specific lines like this). He said: View your love as a covenant. It is not “You are mine,” but it is “I am yours.”
Just let that sink in…
Being married for almost 2 years, this statement really resonated with me. Love is not about property, it’s about trust. Saying to your spouse, “I am trusting you to love me.” And then they say it back. It’s the idea that you can give yourself to one other, and then trust them cherish that and not take advantage. It’s vulnerable, raw, real, and truly…a gift.
I felt like Joe and Christy’s day embodied so many emotions. Love, laughter, tears, and some unique personality for sure! And it’s a gift that I could photograph it. 🙂
I don’t want to gush on too much, but I just want to congratulate the happy couple. Thank you for letting me capture your day and hang out with your family. As a wedding photographer, it’s something that I’m always appreciative of: letting an outsider in to witness some of the raw emotions and beauty of your love in the truest form.
We go from serious….
to goofy…lol!
I love this shot with Christy and her ladies.
The Groom’s cake was a Fireball Shots table!
Did I mention there was a flash mob and a choreographed dance?!
Shots!
And then there was this very emotional feet washing. Not a dry eye in the building.
This was one of my favorite shots from Philip. He gives her his hand. Ahh, it was so sweet. Kinda tearing up now. :'(
I want to give a huge shout out to my TWO second shooters. I had to split up the day, but nevertheless, I’m super grateful for the work they did! Thanks Philip Murphy and Elizabeth Woody! 🙂
